“The Internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow.” – Bill Gates

I was captivated by the Internet during the early 2000s and built my first website with Yahoo! GeoCities. Even though the service doesn’t exist anymore, I’ve kept a website going ever since. Throughout the years, I’ve experimented with basic HTML, Blogger, Wordpress, Squarespace, and now back to HTML with Jekyll. For awhile, I uploaded my music recordings and personal photos to share with family and friends. In a sense, it was my “profile” before Facebook was ubiquitous. I still maintain a web presence today as a hobby and occasionally try out different web hosts and softwares. Since I never end up settling on a platform, you’ll find that this site is always half-baked — but it’s still an amazing feeling to own a piece of Internet.

“Under a trillion stars” is a line from one of my favourite songs — Wings — sung by Birdy. Like this website, the song encapsulates a spirit of adventure and experimentation.

As for a little about me, I am a recent graduate of University of California, Davis. My roots are in Hong Kong, but I spent the majority of time growing up in California. I enjoy traveling near and far, reading about current events, and listening to podcasts like Reply All. You can always tweet me @davidfunglk.
